President Bola Tinubu has appealed to young Nigerians to get their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and take part peacefully in the 2027 general election.
He made the appeal after meeting with members of the City Boy Movement and other youth support groups at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Tinubu said the next election is about the future of the country and urged his supporters to engage more Nigerians at the grassroots.
He said, “Get your PVC and encourage your neighbours to get theirs. Organise peacefully and lawfully. Take our record to Nigerians and make your case with conviction.”
The President thanked the youth groups for standing by his administration since 2022, saying they defended his policies even when many Nigerians disagreed with them.
According to him, “Since 2022, and for three years, you have defended this administration in the markets, on campuses, in motor parks and on social media, often when it was unpopular to do so.”

He added, “You understood why difficult decisions had become necessary and why Nigeria could not keep borrowing to postpone them. I have seen your commitment, and I will never forget it.”
Tinubu praised the City Boy Movement for building what he described as “over 4.8 million verifiable members” across Nigeria and commended its community support programmes.
He also welcomed the launch of “#AskCityBoy,” saying the platform uses “super intelligence to help Nigerians understand what their government is doing through simple, everyday conversation.”
The President encouraged even critics of his administration to use the platform, saying, “I encourage every Nigerian, including our critics, to visit askcityboy.com and ask the questions that matter to you.”
He said government programmes such as NELFUND, CREDICORP and the 3MTT initiative are designed to give students, young people and families more opportunities despite the country’s economic challenges.
Tinubu also praised his son, Seyi Tinubu, for helping to build the movement, saying, “You have only started. There is much more you can do for our people, and I expect you to keep going.”
Vice President Kashim Shettima attended the meeting, where discussions focused on economic reforms, youth participation in governance, inclusive leadership and strengthening grassroots support as political activities gradually gather momentum ahead of the 2027 general election.
