EPL: Manchester United, Tottenham face historic crisis

Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are enduring one of their worst starts to an English Premier League (EPL) season in decades.

Manchester United have picked up only six points from their opening six matches, their poorest start since 1986.

Tottenham are still searching for their first league win after six games, matching their troubled 2008/09 campaign.

The poor runs have revived painful memories of two difficult periods in the clubs’ histories.

United’s struggles in 1986 ended with the departure of manager Ron Atkinson before Sir Alex Ferguson transformed the club.

Tottenham also changed managers in 2008 after Juande Ramos failed to win any of his opening league matches.

Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Old Trafford did little to ease the pressure on either side.

Both clubs are now under growing pressure to start winning before their seasons slip further off course.

Fans are becoming increasingly worried that history could repeat itself if results do not improve soon.

Although the season is still young, Manchester United and Tottenham know they must act quickly to avoid another historic nightmare.
